After all the pregnant baby research, you think you’ve got everything figured out. All the right gear, all the right techniques and methods… then you give birth and womp womp… nothing is the way you expected.
If there was ever some kind of “baby psychic” that was able to tap into your predicted needs vs your actual needs – that would be a pretty lucrative career.
“No! Don’t buy all his clothes in advance! That cute 8 month Christmas outfit won’t do you any good in July when he’s in the 90th percentile!”
“You probably won’t want to buy that souped up crib, because she’ll never sleep in it.”
“Your kid will only take this kind of bottle, so let me save you the 28 trips to the store it’ll take for you to figure it out.”
“Actually, you will all of a sudden want to take up jogging. Plan your stroller purchase accordingly.”
“Yes, buy all the Tulas.”
I got a crazy amazing deal on my car seat. I hunted and strategized and was able to pay way less than I should have.
And then came the problem that falls on many a family.
We need a second car seat.
Mo’ cars, mo’ problems.
We were able to use her infant bucket seat for a long time as our second car seat, but that doesn’t fly anymore as she’s outgrown the specifications. We mainly need one for Grandma and Grandpa’s vehicle because although we can co-ordinate which one of our vehicles we use, we can’t with theirs.
It’s a pain to keep re-installing and switching over the one we have so it really is just time to get a second carseat. Unfortunately, my crazy awesome deal was a diamond in the rough, and buying a duplicate isn’t quite in my budget.
If you’re in the same boat, you’ll be excited to hear that Dorel Juvenile is giving away a Cosco Scenera Next Convertible car seat to one of xox Mommy’s awesome readers!
Until September 4th, the Cosco Scenera Next is available exclusively at Walmart for a special price of $84.97 – but one lucky reader will be able to win one here for free!
Upon reading all the facts for the Scenera Next, I’m pretty impressed that they’re able to pack in all these features at such a spectacular price point:
Rear facing from 5-40 lbs
Front facing from 22-40 lbs
Deeper side wings with side impact protection
Easy rear-facing installation
Compact and fits 3 across in the back seat of most vehicles
Certified for use on aircraft
Made in USA
Machine washable and dryer safe seat pad
I know the fact that this can fit three across most cars is a big deal, as I see that question come up all the time. I won’t be having that problem anytime soon though, that’s for sure!
This is also a great deal for travelling with a lap child on the plane if you prefer to just pick up a car seat at your destination for economical reasons (i.e. Sweet Pea’s seat from Toronto to Vancouver can either be $800+ versus FREE), or if you’re looking for a slim and lightweight car seat that won’t feel like you’re carrying a bathtub across the airport.
Minimum standard safety ratings for all car seats in Canada mean that even though this is a no-frills car seat, it is just as safe as one of the more expensive models with all the bells and whistles.
