First of all, thank you so much for visiting my blog!
My name is Heather: Aries, wanderer, newly initiated suburban mom of 1. I started this blog to document my journey through mommyhood, and also to have an outlet for all of my creative endeavours. Time is a little tight now that I have a little one to take care of, but it just means my “artistic in-box” is overflowing with ideas of things I want to make, right meow.
Allow me to describe myself in a nutshell…
April is a pretty special month for me. It’s the month I was born, the month I married my extraordinary husband Dan, and the month I gave birth to my first baby girl. I love travelling, but haven’t ventured outside of the Northwestern hemisphere. I really want to watch the Perseid Meteor Shower in Jordan, visit Japan, and have our official honeymoon in Bora Bora. I love Mexican food and would visit Mexico every year for the rest of my life if I could. I have never missed an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. I’m a sucker for reality tv. I would love to eventually live off the grid. I will never move to the city – I like my space, I like my quiet, and I like my air. Trees are exquisite to me. My perfect date would be a picnic under the stars. I’m a geek and occasionally consider opening my old calculus textbook and solving some problems just for fun. I’m a mega klutz and hit my hand, stub my toe, or bonk my elbow on something on a daily basis. Running my arm into a doorknob is guaranteed a few times a month. I will keep your greeting cards. I don’t rip through wrapping paper as much as I can help it. I love fonts, lettering and calligraphy; things I like to think I take after my Grandfather. I have a slight obsession for notebooks – lined or otherwise. I don’t read fiction books, although I know I should. I won’t understand any of your literary references. It’s weird, because I read ALL the time when I was a kid. I believe in God. I pray. I’m shy. I’m sarcastic. I love to laugh and people who take themselves too seriously make me uncomfortable. I’m passive-aggressive. I’m extremely nostalgic. I’m the kind of girl that will wear a tiara and fake lashes with cargo pants and steel toed boots. My fashion style is none at all – I will wear anything. My Starbucks go-to is a green tea frappuccino. I love listening to trip-hop and post-rock, but I will go wild during a classic euro set. I love my cowboy boots. I can easily keep myself entertained for hours, anywhere. Family is the most important to me; without them I would be lost. I now know what the phrase “All you need is love” really means.
This blog is dedicated to Sweet Pea, my arm-flailing, boob-draining, poop-shooting, hair-pulling, cheek-smooshing, giggling little ray of light who has changed my life forever. <3<3<3 xox
